Right after tapping, with open vault, before scrap loading, the, QUICK LIME system, patent no. 102016000086834, provides for loading lime in EAF, straight on the liquid steel heel for:
  • Immediately obtaining slag with optimal basicity
  • Maximize the yield of lime
  • Reduce lime consumption (5 - 10%)
  • Protect the furnace refractory linings
  • Eliminate all lime handling in the scrap basket
